Interest Based Research - Social Studies - Proposal

Starting with a question: Inquiry Based Learning allows you the student to dictate what you want to research.  This is your chance to create a question which you are interested in researching for Social Studies class.  Last class we worked on creating a more focused question than the one below: What causes local and global culture to change? We came up with examples like: Do video games have an influence on local and global culture? Does YouTube have an influence of local and global culture? Do smartphones have an influence on local and global culture? Part A) Your Task: First you must decide on a question like the ones above.  Make sure that the question is not too general.  For example: you could pick hockey instead of just sports. Part B) Find and list at least five sources (websites) which provide information on the topic.  If you cannot find five sources with information, then you should consider switching your topic to something else.

Bring Your Own Tech or Device to School - A BYOD Explanation

Should you allow your children to bring their own technology or devices to school ? Well many children already carry expensive smartphones, so why not let them use these powerful tools to help with their education?
